About

Main Campus

Situated among a 385-acre pine forest, the Swainsboro campus is an outdoor oasis and home to several protected species, two outdoor ponds, tennis, and basketball courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, nature trail, and a cross country track.

We not only provide several great picnic locations on our campus, but we also offer affordable classes, a personal connection with faculty and staff, a learning commons area to strengthen your core knowledge, a gym to strengthen your core, and we serve delicious food at our dining hall.

Bobcat Villas, our on-campus housing, allows you to explore nature as you are within minutes of all our facilities including a dining hall, classrooms, and library.

Since 1973, we’ve worked hard to tailor our academic programs to meet your needs at an affordable price.

Locations

Augusta

Nestled among the historic buildings of Augusta University’s Summerville campus, the EGSC-Augusta location is in Galloway Hall and grants you opportunities to many of AU’s services including the library, recreation center and dining services.

Statesboro

Our Statesboro location is conveniently located on Georgia Southern University's Statesboro Campus in the Nessmith-Lane Building. Enjoy personalized instruction thanks to our smaller classes so that professors can show you individualized attention. You’ll also be provided access to student service opportunities available on the Georgia Southern University campus.

Uniqueness

No matter which location you choose to attend, EGSC has the right fit for your needs. The Swainsboro campus offers a tight-knit community with residential options, while the Statesboro and Augusta locations allow you to enjoy the small class sizes and affordability of EGSC while still experiencing the vibrant student life of the larger universities with which we share space.

EGSC stands out because we take the time to know who you are and help you achieve your personalized goals. Here, your professors know your name, your story, and your plans, and are here to support you as you move forward.

EGSC’s partnerships with Augusta University and Georgia Southern University help make the transition to college easy, giving you the one-on-one support you need while helping you develop the skills that will help you succeed in reaching your goals.

Let’s get weird

What makes EGSC stand out beyond our academic programs? We’ve got something for everyone, and it may not even be what you expect! Bobcat Apiary hosts a unique type of resident on the college campus – honey bees! Named the second Bee Campus USA in Georgia (after Georgia Tech!) and just 14th in the nation in 2016 (currently there are 115 Bee Campuses across the US), the Apiary harvested its first honey in November of 2019 and is now host to eight hives on campus!

Want to watch them work from a distance? Check out our Bee Cam livestream at www.ega.edu/bee-cam

Not into insects? What about niche sports? EGSC is home to a challenging 18-hole disc golf course that was established in 2006 and has held qualifying events for the National Disc Golf Championships for several years.

If you’re into throwing things, the 3D Design class at EGSC continues the proud tradition of boomerangs at the college. During the 1980s and 90s, EGSC hosted many large boomerang events on campus and a few former professors even hold patents for boomerang designs! The classes now design their own boomerangs as part of their class assignments and can be seen on the quad testing out their designs each year.

If nature is your thing, EGSC also earned Tree Campus Higher Education® recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation since 2018, showing our commitment to effective forest management practices. Enjoy our beautiful forests on the 5K and 10K trails that run across campus.

Sense of Belonging

On a smaller campus, you will feel more confident to begin your college education. At EGSC, you will have a strong support system such as friendly staff ready to lend a helping hand, low student-to-faculty ratio that gives increased accessibility to your professors, and on-campus resources to help you succeed. With our close-knit and diverse community, you will never feel like just another face in the crowd.

Athletics

Become a Bobcat and join one of our four National Junior College Athletic Association and Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association sports: Men's and Women's Basketball, Baseball or Softball. EGSC also began offering Junior Varsity Athletics in Fall of 2021, and Varsity and JV Cross Country and Tennis for men and women in Fall of 2022! We're looking forward to an exciting season, as many of our athletic teams made the final four in their conferences in the previous years. Go Bobcats!
